Filigree of the ages

In partnership with Confluence and photographer Michel Nachef, a dozen residents participated in the exhibition project entitled "watermark of the ages" in tribute to elders from elsewhere, on the other shore of the Mediterranean.

Confluence is also organizing an exhibition in tribute to elders from elsewhere, on the other side of the Mediterranean. A presence over time and migrations, a living memory and a rich identity to transmit, to revive through portraits of men and women and emblematic places of immigration made by the photographer Michel Nachef; an outstanding expert on the Maghreb in all its territorial extent and the diversity of its population. "... For me the photo is writing, telling a story" .

This project, supported by CILPI (Interministerial Commission for Immigrant Populations), the policy of the City of Marseille and with the participation of ALOTRA, highlights another facet of this population and contributes to the emergence of a memorial speech by the elders.
This exhibition is a moment of meeting, reunion, and intergenerational and civic transmission.

The contribution of photography promotes the emergence of a new perception of this population and makes us think about living together. To say that it is possible, to give hope to all those who do not dare to go back in time, to live in peace in the land of immigration.
