"Calibration" study

A calibration study is essentially based on a technical and social diagnosis, the purpose of which is to identify families in a situation of territorial anchorage in a territory and to ask the elements of knowledge relating to their situation and their habitat requirements. This diagnosis is dynamic, insofar as it aims to anticipate the prospects for changes in the situations of families and the site. In parallel, it seeks to identify one or more operators capable of supporting the community in its detailed and individual rehousing actions.

In order to achieve this objective, our methodological approach is centered around the following axes:
• A comprehensive approach to family situations which takes into account the diversity of groups and the diversity of housing solutions to be considered.
• An update on how families have both adapted to the site and appropriated their living spaces as well as urban space.
• Repeated meetings with families in order to establish a relationship of trust.
• Concerted action with the various study partners.

For example, for almost forty years, Travelers have settled on the site called Roquefure 1 in Apt. With regard to the situation of families, in particular in terms of health, the City of Apt has taken the initiative to initiate basic improvements. Over time, families have developed elements of housing, without, however, receiving planning permission. The Community of Communes of the Pays d'Apt Luberon (CCPAL) is committed to implementing, through the RHI Bidonville procedure, an action of rehousing of all the inhabitants in an approach prefigured by a "calibration" study "produced by CATHS in partnership with Alotra.
